Community Feedback

Flower Hill Mall has won her over.
Reprinted from the San Diego Union-Tribune, April 18, 2008
At first I was concerned about the impacts of the larger 2005 project, but I now believe that the owners have listened to community concerns and made significant modifications that we can all live with. The project is a blending of the communities needs and the developers needs and fits the character of the existing center and the community.
I am excited about the plans for a Whole Foods in our community because we do not currently have a natural foods gourmet grocery in the area and I am tired of driving to La Jolla to patronize Whole Foods. The location at Flower Hill will be convenient and require less travel time for me and my neighbors to shop.
Although a patron of the theaters at Flower Hill, I am not alarmed by their demise because there is still a theater in the community at the Del Mar Highlands that is close by and easy to access.

Plans for Flower Hill Promenade spot on!
Reprinted from the Rancho Santa Fe Review, April 17, 2008
I wanted to take a few minutes to add my two cents to the discussion surrounding the plans for the Flower Hill Promenade. As someone who frequents the businesses there often, I like the new plans for the area and it appears to me that the owners of the Promenade have been sensitive to the concerns of the neighbors.
There was a concern voiced by some neighbors when the first plan was for a 250,000-square-foot office structure on top of a parking garage. All that has changed and it has been scaled back to 164,000 square feet.
Any time someone proposes growth and change, there will be voicing of dissent. In this particular case, the good of the community should outweigh a few loud voices. In my opinion, the plans for the Flower Hill Promenade are spot on and should be instituted as soon as possible.
