RENOVATION PLANNING: PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Location: Northeast corner of Via de la Valle and Interstate 5, City of San Diego
 
Project Goal: Create a high-quality, lifestyle center that enhances the community and provides significant retail amenities for residents and visitors.
 
Proposed Project: Renovation and expansion of retail and commercial space to upgrade the center.

New retail and office space includes:
  * One-of-a-kind retailers and possibly complementary national chain stores
  * Boutique office uses such as medical and insurance services
  * Whole Foods Market

Parking expansion resulting in 1,035 spaces
  * Surface parking: 457 spaces
  * Parking structure: 481 spaces
  * Increase of 249 parking spaces from the current 7,856 spaces

Plan submitted to the City of San Diego in March 2008
  * Permit process with City expected to take approximately 9 to 18 months.
  * If the city requests an EIR, the document will be prepared and submitted; public hearings will then follow.
