Location:

Northeast corner of Via de la Valle and Interstate 5, City of San Diego

Project Goal:

Create a high-quality, lifestyle center that enhances the community and provides significant retail amenities for residents and visitors.

Proposed Project:

Renovation and expansion of retail and commercial space to upgrade the center.

New retail and office space includes:

  • One-of-a-kind retailers and possibly complementary national chain stores
  • Boutique office uses such as medical and insurance services
  • Whole Foods Market

Parking expansion resulting in:

  • Total parking: 981 spaces
  • Increase of 195 parking spaces from the current 786 spaces

Timing:

  • Plan submitted to the City of San Diego in February 2009
  • Permit process with City expected to take approximately 9 months.
  • If the city requests an EIR, the document will be prepared and submitted; public hearings will then follow.
  • Construction to begin in 2010.

Zoning:

The project fits within the existing zoning and is within the limits allowed by the General Use Plan.
